Process Is My Valentine
I will freely admit that one of the weaknesses of Mass Street Analytics is that we do not have a "process," which is shocking because process is my valentine. Most consulting firms have a "process." There is a particular firm in town that calls it their "way." The "process" that I am talking about is a systematic way that a consulting firm goes about its business. The "process" is usually used as a selling point with clients and a competitive differentiator in the marketplace, or so companies think. In reality, these processes are usually useful as standard operating procedure for their troops but take on the properties of commodities when compared to other firms' processes.
While we have no defined process for gathering system specifications or a long list of questions to use in system requirements gathering, we do have a highly effective and systematic method for deploying self-service data platforms in organizations. We have given this process the unabashedly generic name "The ETL Framework."
